Famous People

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 August 2026

Famous People is a party game. This page explains what happens to your information when you visit this site or join the waitlist. We've tried to keep it short and readable rather than dense.

The short version: the only thing we ask for is your email address, and the only thing we use it for is telling you when the game is ready to play. We don't sell it, and there are no advertising trackers on this site. We do use Google Analytics to count visits and see how people move through the page.

What we collect

Your email address, but only if you type it into the waitlist form and submit it. Nothing on this site asks for your name, phone number, address, or payment details.

Alongside your email we store a timestamp recording when you signed up, so we know the order people joined in. If you submit the same address twice, we update that timestamp rather than creating a second entry.

What we use it for

One thing: sending you an email when Famous People is ready to play. We may send a small number of follow-up messages about the launch itself. We will not sell, rent, or share your address with other companies for their own marketing.

Where it's stored

Waitlist emails are stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore), which hosts this site and its data. The list is not publicly readable — access is restricted by security rules so that only the site owner, signed in to an administrator account, can view it.

Other services this site touches

We use Google Analytics purely to understand whether the site is working and worth continuing. There are no advertising trackers, no remarketing, and nothing here is used to build a profile of you or to target ads.

If you'd rather not be counted, Google publishes an opt-out browser add-on, and most browsers offer a "do not track" or tracker-blocking setting that stops Analytics from loading.

How long we keep it

We keep your email until the launch has happened and you've been notified, or until you ask us to remove it — whichever comes first.

Your choices

You can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it entirely. Just email us and we'll take care of it. Depending on where you live — for example in the UK, EU, or California — you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA, including the right to object to processing or to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Children

This site isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child has given us their email address, contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
